Three Pumpkin Patches To Visit With Kids In Colorado
Best Pumpkin Patches with small kids
Pumpkin Patches were made for littles, at least these three are! Mile High Farms, Chatfield Botanical Gardens, and Nicks Garden Center are the best pumpkin patches for little kids near Denver.
Mile High Farms
This pumpkin patch has grown to be our family favorite. Mile High Farms is truly one of the most authentic experiences you can have. Once you paid your admission, the list of free activities and fall vibes are endless! This true farm and pick your own pumpkin patch will guaranteed be a good time for all ages.
What Activities Do They Have Here?
The list of activities while at the farm is jam packed with authentic farm experiences! From corn mazes, to tractor rides, bubbles and corn pits, tire swings, and the cutest animals - there is something for all ages to enjoy. The highlight is an antique tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch. There is a fun slide, corn hole and lots of vendors to support! Face painting, snacks and drinks are for sale once inside, but everything else is a βfreeβ experience with your entry! A full break down can be found here on their FAQ!
I highly recommend everyone wears socks and closed toe shoes while here! There are a lot of goat heads and pokey plants throughout the farm.
Pick Your Own Pumpkin Patch
The best experience of Mile High Farms in the antique tractor ride to the pick your own pumpkin patch. You get to sit on a haystack and take a bumpy ride to the pick your own pumpkin patch. It is so much fun and feels like childhood. At the patch you are free to wonder where ever you would like to find your best pumpkin! Once you get back to the farm, you pay for the pumpkin 75 cents per pound.
I recommend brining something to carry your pumpkins with. Whether that is a wagon, strong bag - or you can rent a wagon or wheelbarrow for $2 while here. You can also bring a stroller, just know the farm is a backroad dirt only kinda place, so there is no pathways - you will be off roading :)

Chatfield Botanical Gardens
We love Chatfield Botanical Gardens any time of the year, but espeically during the fall! Not only is there an epic pumpkin patch and corn maze (additional cost), but it is tucked around the most beautiful trees and scenery. Denver Botanic Gardens owns this property, so you can imagine they take amazing care of the small details and flowers around the property giving you endless photo ops! Plus there are tons of interactive play areas for the kids to run around and enjoy. Tickets here can be harder to score because it is loved by so many! Pick Your Own Pumpkin Patch
The pick your own pumpkin patch is free for you to explore at your leisure. You can pick any pumpkins you choose and the cost per pumpkin can range from $5 - $11. I recommend wearing closed toe shoes and brining something to carry your pumkins in! Whether it is a wagon, stroller, or bag. The pumpkin patch is all dirt. Outside the pumpkin patch are some games, vendors, and the corn maze. There are two corn mazes, one for littles and one for adults! There are bridges to help you see an overview, you get a map and worse case lots of workers there to assist as needed! Please do not pick the corn :)
