Waikiki

If you have heard anything about Hawaii ever chances are it involved the word Waikiki. This is the heartbeat of the island. It's where all the best shopping, hotels and nightlife are, oh and did I mention the 813,000 monthly visitors? Oh yes it's a popping palace. It's one of the most popular travel destinations because everything you need is right there.

A quick walk into an ABC store and you can walk out with presents for yourself, family, Uncle Jim, Tony from work, and Sally your hairdresser. If you want more high end items the Waikiki Strip will not let you down. Waikiki hosts popular shops like H&M to Dior really have every store you can think of! And just in case they don't, a quick bus ride will bring you to the biggest outdoor mall in America, the Ala Moana Shopping Center complete with over 290 stores, and they are even in the process of adding more!

The Waikiki Strip is the best place for people watching and tons of street performers. You'll likely run into the man and his birds or the popular driving guinea pig. If it's not shopping you need the beach is right out your backdoor. Waikiki is famous for all of its Ocean Festivals, Surfing and Swimming competitions, Hawaii 5-0 premiers and much much more. You can enjoy the Waikiki Wall where many kids will be playing or tourist floating.

Further out you'll see hundreds of surfers from pro levels to just learning. There's tons of boat rides and Catamarans going every hour! Lots of booze cruises, snorkel trips, parasailing and dining cruises you will never be bored. I have taken a few of these various trips and have been so pleased every time. The life in Waikiki is always buzzing! The Waikiki waters may not be as blue as they used to do to the popularity and sunscreen residue,  but if you swim out of the 'tourist zone' Hawaii's waters will start to show off for you!

By shore it is rather crowded and foggy but just keep going and you'll see all kinds of beautiful fish, animals, and turtles galore! People have even seen dolphins while swimming here! If the water isn't for you there's plenty of cabana, umbrella, and chair rentals on the beach. Regardless of how you like to spend you time in the sun, Waikiki is a fun way to do it!
